3 youths held on charge of subversive activities in Habiganj

Police arrested three young men in connection with subversive activities from Umednagar area in Sadar upazila early Monday.
The arrested were identified as Faisal Miah, 18, son of Majibur Rahman, a resident of Kalipur village in Sadar upazila of Bhairab district; Sajjad alias Sadat, 25, son of Kadar Ali and Rahmat Ali, son of Nimbar Ali, both residents of Umednagar village in Sadar upazila of Habiganj district.Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested the trio in the dead of night, said Najim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.During interrogation, Faisal reportedly confessed they had hurled two crude bombs at the residence of the district’s additional superintendent of police Shahidul Islam.He reportedly admitted that he had bought some plastic bottles and 10 litres of petrol on Sadat’s order.Three crude bombs were also hurled at the residences of assistant superintendents of police Sazzadul Hasan, Sazzat Ibn Roy and Masudur Rahman Monir in the district on January 23. -UNB, Habiganj
