30 injured in Narail clash

At least 30 people were injured in a fierce clash at Kumri village under Lohagara upazila of the district on Tuesday morning July 23. Seriously injured three and one bearing a spear on his body were admitted to Narail Sadar Hospital. The rest of the injured are undergoing treatment in Lohagara upazila Health Complex. Police have been deployed in the area as tension prevails. No case has been filed in the thana till the filing of the report. Seriously injured persons were identified as Mintu Sardar, 30, Zaman Sardar, 35, and Ripon Sardar, 30 and Ripon Sikdar, 37, has been pierced in his right leg with a spear.Police and local sources said, there was enmity between Osman Sardar group and Asad Sardar group for a long time over establishing supremacy in the village. On Tuesday morning both the two groups of people were locked in a clash as a result of an altercation over a trivial matter. People of both the groups used local traditional weapons. At least 30 people were injured in the clash that went on for one hour and a half. Lohagara thana police brought the situation under control.OC of Lohagara thana Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury said, a team of police has been deployed in the troubled area.
