30 injured in Sylhet clash

At least 30 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a trifling matter at Old Tetli village in Dakkhin Surma upazila on Friday.

Quoting villagers, police said an altercation ensued between two people of Old Tetli village and Ahmedpur village while talking over mobile phone at about 9:30 pm.

At one stage, two groups of people from both the villages, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked each others, leaving 30 people injured.

Being informed, police rushed in and brought the situation under control by opening rubber bullets lobbing teargas shells.

The injured were rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital and local clinics. -UNB, Sylhet
