An anti-smuggling squad of Bangladesh Navy in a drive seized 30,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from a boat at the outer anchorage of Chittagong port early Saturday.Navy sources said suspecting movement of an engine-run boat in the area, a team of Navy’s anti-smuggling cell, led by its Commander Atiqur Rahman, challenged the boat around 3:30am.Later they recovered 30,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from a bag from inside the boat.
The market value of the seized Yaba tablets was estimated at Tk1.65 crore.However, no one was arrested as the smugglers managed to flee sensing the presence of the Navy patrol team. -UNB, Chittagong
