Rajshahi, 23 Jam – A total of 31 foreign students from 3 countries have been selected for admission to honours and Master’s courses in Rajshahi University (RU). Offer letters have also been sent to the selected students to get admitted into the respective department.University Academic source said, 17 students at honours level and 14 students in masters level have been preliminary nominated by university authority where 16 from Nepal 1 from Jordan and 14 from Somalia.
Head of the university academic branch Deputy Registrar A H M Aslam told to this correspondent that the admissions of those students will be final after the evaluation of their applications by concerned faculties and after approval of Ministry of education in in the form of No-objection certificates.
The selected students are being admitted on temporary basis while offer letters have been sent to the concerned embassies to Bangladesh and the Education Ministry.
According to the information, foreign students are interested comparatively in departments under the Agriculture faculty. 21 students have been nominated for department of Veterinary and Animal Science, Fisheries department and Agronomy and Crop Science under the faculty, 3 students for economics department and public administration under the Faculty of Social Science, 2 students for Management studies and Finance department under the Faculty of Business Administration, 2 students for Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Electrical department under the faculty of Engineering and 3 students for department of pharmacy and Mathematics under the faculty of Science.
Being inspired by privileges offered for the foreign students they become interested in admission to the university, he added. In the next 15-20 days the admission process will end, he said.
Last year 29 foreign students were nominated for admission. Out of 34 applicants 15 got admitted
