The Public Service Commission (PSC) has published the schedule for the written tests of the compulsory subjects of the 34th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations.
As in last year, this year, too, the PSC has decided to hold two tests each day – one from 10am-1pm and the other from 2pm-5pm. The written tests begin on March 24 and end on March 31.The schedule was published on Thursday on the Commission’s website.
The tests will be held simultaneously at the examination centres in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet and Rangpur.
The PSC had announced on Feb 16 the date of the written tests after republishing the preliminary results, which included 280 indigenous candidates. They were excluded from the earlier list.
On July 8 last year, the results of 34th BCS preliminary tests were published first, based on the quota system, in which 12,033, including the indigenous candidates, were cleared.
But the results sparked a widespread agitation by students who claimed many ‘meritorious’ students had been left out.
Following the protests, revised results were published on July 14 showing 46,250 candidates had passed but the indigenous examinees were left out.
Later, these job-seekers moved the High Court on July 28. The court on Feb 11 this year ordered the republishing of the preliminary test results, including those of the indigenous candidates.-bdnews24.com
