35 rescued at Benapole while being trafficked to India

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 35 people, including women and children, while they were being trafficked to India through Putkhali border here on Thursday morning.

Commander Farid Uddin of BGB battalion 23 said acting on secret information that some people were being trafficked to India through Putkhali border point they launched a drive and rescued the victims from Balurmath area.

The rescued people –- 17 men, 12 women and six children– were handed  over to Benaplole Port police.   All of them hail from different parts of Narail and Faridpur districts, Farid Uddin said.

However, no one was arrested in this connection as the human traffickers fled the scene sensing the presence of the border guards. –UNB, Benapole
