3,895 Rajshahi students get medals for brilliant results

Around 3,895 students, who obtained GPA-5 in Junior School Certificate (JSC) and its equivalent examinations from the city’s schools and Madrashas in 2015 and 2016, received mayor education medals.

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) accorded reception to them as recognition to their meritorious results at two functions held at its Green Plaza on Saturday.

Addressing the function as the chief guest city Mayor Mosaddeque Hussain Bulbul advised the students to groom themselves properly to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.

Terming the students as the future leaders of the nation, he said they

should acquire scientific and communication technological based knowledge to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Besides freeing the society from all sorts of corruption and

irregularities, the students’ communities should come forward to lead the society in a way so that the hopes and aspirations of the common people are met properly, he said.

With RCC Panel Mayor Anwarul Azim in the chair, Principal of Rajshahi

Education Board Model School and College Professor Taifur Rahman, former Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University Professor Altaf Hossain, former chairman of Rajshahi Education Board Professor Tanbirul Alam and RCC Panel Mayor Kamrun Nahar also spoke.

Mayor Bulbul advised the students to refrain themselves from all sorts of destructive, anti-social and immoral activities to brighten the image of the society as well as the nation.

Terming the young generation as the strength of the nation, he viewed they must be built as worthy citizens enhancing their level of confidence.

He said the city corporation is very much sincere for the development of the city’s education sector and has adopted various need-based programmes to attain the cherished goal.

“We have no way but to promote information and communication technology in every spheres of national life for cherished economic growth of the country,” he added, reports BSS, Rajshahi.
