Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a raid arrested four alleged members of a Yaba syndicate from city’s Boro Pool area under Halishahar Thana on Sunday night.The arrestees were identified as Rabiul Alam, 28, Abdul Mannan alias Enam, 23, Salauddin, 34 and Nur Alam, 30. All of them hailed from different upazilas under Cox’s Bazar.
On receipt of secret information, a team of Halishahar police conducted a raid in the area and arrested the members of the syndicate from in front of Saudia Bus Counter while they were selling contraband Yaba tablets there, said Pranab Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Halishahar police station.Police also recovered 230 pieces of Yaba tablets from their possession, the OC said adding that they were the members of a Yaba syndicate in Chakaria Upazila of Cox’s Bazar and used to sell Yaba tablets to different retail sellers in the city.A case was filed in this connection.(BSS)
