A joint forces team in a drive arrested four activists of BNP in Chowgachha upazila of Jessore district early Monday.
The arrestees were identified as Mizanur Rahman of Kayapara village, Kutub Uddin of Bakpara village, Rabiul Islam of Panchnamna village and Mostafizur Rahman Mostaq.Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Akkas Ali said a team comprising members of police, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted the drive in different areas of the upazila and arrested the four BNP men in the dead of night.Contacted, family members of the arrested alleged that they were held because of taking part in the campaign for the BNP backed candidate in the upcoming municipal polls.They were handed over to Sadar Police Station.
