At least four ceramic workers were killed and 20 others injured as a bus carrying them rammed into a tree on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka district on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Jahanara, 26, Rahim, 30, Rawshanara, 28, and Archana Rani, 35, workers of Protick Ceramic Factory in Dautia area. Officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station Abdur Rashid said the bus carrying workers of the ceramic factory from Nabinagar rammed into a roadside tree in Dautia area near the factory around 7:45am after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving Jahanara and Rahim dead on the spot and 22 others injured. Critically injured Rawsanara and Archana were rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital, Savar where doctors declared them dead. The rest injured were admitted to different hospitals. Police recovered the bodies while the family members took away the body of Rahim for burial without post-mortem. – UNB
