Four people died and two others fell sick after inhaling carbon dioxide following a gas cylinder leak at a ship breaking yard in Sitakund upazila on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Jasim Uddin, 28, Mohammad Faruque, 30, Gias Uddin, 30, and Arif.The injured were admitted to a clinic in the city where their condition was stated to be critical.
Officer-in-charge of Sitakund Police Station Iftekhar Hasan said at least six people fell sick after inhaling toxic gas spilled out from the gas cylinder in a scrap ship at the ship breaking yard of Arefin Enterprise in Kadamrasul area around 3:30 am.
Four of them died on the way to hospital while two others were admitted to a clinic in the port city, he said – UNB
