Dhaka – Four people, including two drivers, were found dead in separate incidents in Narayanganj, Faridpur, Pabna and Gazipur on Monday and Tuesday.
In Narayanganj, police recovered the body of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver from a pond in Mizmiz area of Siddhirganj upazila on Tuesday morning.
The victim was identified as Abdul Aziz, 42, son of late Akbar Hossain of the area. Sub-inspector Shawkat of Siddhirganj Police Station said locals spotted the body of Aziz in the pond in the morning and informed them.
Later, they recovered the body and sent it to 100-beded Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy, said the SI.
Miscreants might have strangulated Aziz as his body bore marks of injuries to the throat, he said, adding that the victim’s vital organ was also found mutilated.
SI Shawkat assumed that the driver might have been victim of family feud as his second wife went into hiding following the killing.
In Faridpur, the body of a run-on-hire bike driver was recovered from a field at Gobindapur village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Rinku Sheikh, 16, who is also a Class-IX student of local Kamarpur Abdul Aziz High School.
The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Victim’s mother Nilufar said Rinku who drove bike alongside study went out of their house on Monday afternoon and did not return home since then.
Later, he was found dead with his throat slit in the field.
Besides, Saddam Hossain, 22, was stabbed to death by rivals over previous feud at Shibpur Bazar in Atgharia upazila of Pabna district on Monday night.
The victim was the son of one Jhulu Miah of Ataikula upazila in the district.
Locals said Saddam locked in an altercation with some youths at Shibpur Bazar on Monday night over previous feud. At one stage, the youths stabbed him and fled the scene hurriedly.
Rescued by locals, Saddam was rushed to Pabna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 5 am on Tuesday. The body was sent to hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, police recovered the hanging body of a tailoring shop employee in Konabari of the city of Gazipur on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Milon, 35, son of Osman Ali of Shalinar village in under Barohatta upazila of Netrakona. – UNB
