Police in a drive arrested four people along with 450 tortoises from Machkhola village in Sadar upazila on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrestees were identified as Kamal Chandra Shil, hailing from Barguna, Islam Dhali, a resident of Laxmidari village, Hafizur Rahman and Khrishno Bachar, residents of Gangni village of sadar upazila.Emdad Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said being tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid on the house of one Fazal Sardar at the village around 3:30pm arrested them along with the tortoises.The total worth of tortoises is Tk5 lakh, added the OC. -UNB, Satkhira
