4 hurt in BNP-Jamaat’s clash with cops in Magura

Four people, including a police official, were injured in a clash between police and BNP-Jamaat activists on the Magura-Jessore highway in Shimakhali area of Shalikha upazila on Sunday afternoon.The injured were Sudarshan Kumar Roy, assistant superintendent of police, Magura, and BNP-Jamaat activists Farid Uddin, Alamgir and Sohor Ali of the area.Police sources said BNP-Jamaat activists brought out a procession in
the area around 5.00pm and police obstructed their procession as they started vandalising shops on the highway. Later the BNP-Jamaat men hurled brick chips to police and vandalised a police vehicle, leaving the police official injured. The law enforcers opened fire to disperse the BNP-Jamaat activists, leaving three of them injured.Police also arrested a BNP activist from the spot.A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Magura
