Four people were killed as a bus crashed into a motorcycle on the Netrakona-Barhatta Road in Kalibari area of Netrakona sadar upazila on Wednesday.
Two of the deceased were identified as Ekhlas Miah, 25, son of Asad Miah, a resident of Gauripur upazila of Mymensingh, and Rajon, 26, son of Ratan Miah of the same upazila.Netrakona Model Police Station officer-in-charge AKM Kawser said the accident occurred on the road around 7:30am when a speeding bus ran over a motorcycle, which operates on hire, from the opposite direction, leaving all three passengers of the latter and its driver dead on the spot.Later, locals caught the bus after a hot chase and handed over it to police.However, the driver and its helper managed to escape the scene after
the accident.Poor visibility caused by dense fog or carrying excess passengers by the motorcycle led to the accident, the OC added.The bodies were sent to Netrakona sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. -UNB, Mymensingh
