Dhaka- Four people, including two children, were killed in two separate incidents of lightning strike in Pirgachha and Kaunia upazila in Rangpur on Friday.The deceased were identified as Bijoy Chandra Barmon,8, son of Badal Chandra Barmon, and his cousin Paritosh Chandra Barmon,12, son of Dilip Chandra Barmon of Bihari village in Pirgachha upazila, and Moniruzzaman Miah,60, and Shakil Miah,20, of Gopal village in Kaunia upazila Officer-in-charge of Pirgachha Police Station Aminul Islam said a streak of lighting struck Bijoy and his cousin Paritosh as they were playing outside their house amid thunder shower in the afternoon,leaving them dead on the spot.In another incident, Moniruzzaman and Shakil were killed as a thunderbolt hit them while they were working in a field in the afternoon.
