At least four people, including three women, were killed and 11 others injured as a bus and a human hauler collided head-on at Mostafapur in Sadar upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Shipon Hawladar,24, driver of the human hauler and son of Mojubur Master of Gazirchar village in Sadar upazila, Shefali Begum,23, of Shashikar village, Champa Akhtar, 22, of Kauakuli village and Happy Akhtar, 5, daughter of Selim Chowdhury of the upazila.Mofazzal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Madaripur Sadar Police Station, said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound bus of Sakura Paribahan collided head-on with a human hauler (locally called Nosimon) carrying labourers from Madaripur Spinning Mills of the area around 11:30pm, leaving four people dead on the spot and 11 others injured.
The injured were admitted to Madaripur Sadar Hospital and Faridpur Medical College Hospital, with some among them in critical condition. – UNB
