4 killed in three train accidents in Tangail, Comilla

Four people, including a woman, were killed in three train accidents in Tangail and Comilla districts on Saturday.
In Tangail, two people were killed and another injured as ‘Moitri Express’ rammed an auto-rickshaw at Kalimajani level crossing in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district on Saturday evening.The deceased were identified as Noya Mia, 35, son of Ajgar Ali, hailing from Kalimajani, and auto-rickshaw driver Abdul Mannan, hailing from Sohagpara village in the upazila.
The officer-in charge of Mirzapur Police Station Md Main Uddin said Dhaka-bound ‘Moitri Express’ from Kolkata hit an auto-richshaw when it was passing the rail crossing in the area at around 6pm, leaving the duo dead on spot and a school girl injured.
Later, police recovered the bodies.
In Comilla, two people, including a woman, were crushed under the wheels of trains in two accidents in Utsab Padua and Perul areas on on the Dhaka-Chittagong Railway in Comilla Sadar Dakkhin (South) upazila on Saturday.
The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Sub-inspector of Laksam Railway Police Susanta Rahut said the deceased might have been crushed under the wheels of trains at night.- UNB
