CHITTAGONG: Four children, including two schoolboys, drowned in three different areas of Fatikchari Municipality of the district on Wednesday.The deceased were identified as Class-V student Abdul Al Saki, 11, son of Abul Hasem, Class-III student Robiul Hossain Tamim, 9, son of Nurul Alam from Ward No-8 of Fatikchari Municipality.
Besides, Tafsi Akhter, 2, daughter of Khorshedul Alam from Babunagar village of Daulatpur Union and Hossain, 2, son of Musa fom Purba Dholoi village at Hathajari upazila.
Fatikchari Municipality Mayor Ismail Hossain and local sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Local sources said Saki and Rabiul went missing while taking bath a pond near home. After witnessing the accident, one of their friends informed the accident news to local peoples.
Locals rescued them from the pond and rushed to the hospital where duty doctor declared them dead.
Daulatpur Union sources said Tasfi and Hossain drowned in a pond while taking bath.
