At least forty shops were gutted in a fire that broke out at a local market in Mithamoin upazila on Sunday morning.
Local people said the fire originated from a mosquito coil at a shop at the market around 12:30am and soon engulfed the adjoining area, burning down 40 shops, including 8-10 makeshift shops.The fire was doused by the local people after two hours frantic effort.The affected shop owners claimed the fire caused them a loss of Tk 1 crore. -UNB, Kishoreganj
