Department of Women Affairs, Narsingdi, under its women assistance programme are being imparted training to the helpless women for making the women self-reliant.District Women Affairs Officer Sayeda Masuda Islam said the year-long training course for the helpless women began in the district since 1990 and so far 4,000 helpless women imparted training by the women assistance programme of the Department of Women Affairs.The women are being imparted training on tailoring, block-boutique and embroidery through the four training centers of the department of women affairs in the district.A total 140 trainees, of them 50 are being imparted in Sadar upazila, 30 at Monohardi, 30 at Belabo and 30 at Polash upazila training centers.Besides, the department has been imparting three months training course for the 30 women on mobile phone service, food processing, beautician and candle making in Sadar upazila training center.After completion the training course the Women Affairs Department are being provided the trained women with loans to make them self reliant by taking small project or business, official sources said.BSS, Narsingdi
