Bangladesh Coast Guard in a drive seized 4,080-kg of jatka (small hilsa fish) from four launches on Dhaleshwari river in Sadar upazila of the district this morning.Fisheries officer Sahajad Khasru said a coast guard team conducted the drive at Dhaka-bound MV Gazi-1, MV Prince, MV Morning Sun and MV Purbali on the river and recovered the fish worth about Taka over 9 lakh.
Sensing the presence of law enforcers the fish traders fled away from the scene. The seized jataka was distributed to the poor and different madrasas and orphanages in the district.BSS, Munshiganj
