Police arrested 44 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student body Islami Chhatra Shibir from different places of the district from Thursday night to Friday morning. Assistant police super M Quamruzzaman of Faridpur said they conducted drives at the places and arrested the 44 Jamaat-Shibir men during the period. They Jamaat-Shibir men were held apprehending that they might create violence following the execution of condemned Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah, he said. – UNB
