Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 46 people, including six women
and one child, while they were being trafficked to India through Sadipur border point
here on Friday night.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-26 raided the house of an alleged human trafficker, Razzak,
around 10 pm and held 46 people while being trafficked to India, said in-charge of ICP
Camp, Benapole Abdul Mannan.
All the victims hail from different parts of Dhaka, Narayangnaj, Gopalganj and Faridpur
districts.
Sensing the border guards’ presence, the other human traffickers managed to escape.
Sumon, a victim, said they each paid the human traffickers Tk 30,000 as they promised to
provide them with good jobs in India.
Later, they were handed over to Benapole Port police. -UNB, Benapole
