A mild tremor shook the city and other parts of the country on Tuesday afternoon.Met office sources said the earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale was felt at 15:10 pm.
The epicentre of the earthquake was Bangladesh-India border area, near Khagrachari, 76 km east of Dhaka’s Agargaon Seismic Centre.
However, there is no immediate report of any damage by the tremor.
