5-day banking fair ended Saturday

The 5-day banking fair at the Bangla Academy premises ended on Saturday with enthusiastic response from large number of visitors.Announcing the conclusion of the country’s first ever banking exhibition by banks and financial institutions, Bangladesh Bank governor said that from now on every year the event will take place in the city.
All the banks and financial institutions participated in the fair through 80 stalls to showcase the products and services while the Bangladesh Bank alone set up 12 stalls to respond to the visitors’ queries in relation to banking products or services.
Cultural functions, seminars and open debates were included in the fair’s everyday programmes.
Addressing the concluding session, Bangladesh Bank governor Dr. Atiur Rahman said that the banking fair has been very successful as it received adequate response from the visitors.
“This exhibition has provided evidence of a united effort made by all in the banking sector,” he told the function, which was also addressed by former Food Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak, Deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank Abu Hena Razee Hasan and chief economist of the central bank Dr. Biru Paksha Paul.
The central bank governor said that this banking fair has sent a new message to bank customers at home and abroad.
He also thanked all the staffs of Bangladesh bank and also different banks and financial institutions for their non-stop efforts for making the fair a success.-
