The two groups fought each other for about half an hour on Sunday afternoon.
The injured were being treated at the Chhatak Upazila Health Complex and the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Juba League, student and youth wings of the BNP and the Awami League, respectively, got into an altercation during the Opposition blockade in the Chhatak municipal area, said Chhatak Police Station’s OC Shahjalal Munshi.
The war of words soon led to a fight between local BNP and Awami League men brandishing locally-made weapons, he said.
