Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested 52 people from Sonapara beach on the Marine Drive Road in Ukhia upazila on Sunday night while they were set to go to Malaysia by two trawlers illegally.
Rab also seized both the trawlers.Maj Kazi Rashedul Alam of Rab-7 Cox’s Bazar said being tipped off that one Rustom Ali with his two sons were set to go to Malaysia in two trawlers, a team of Rab launched a drive in the area around 10:00pm and arrested the 52 people from the spot.Later, the arrestees were handed over to Ukhia Police Station. -UNB, Cox’s Bazar
