Dhaka – The qualifying and eliminator round of the 5th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) cricket begins on Friday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here.League leader Comilla Victorians, led by Tamim Iqbal, will play Shakib-Al Hasan’s defending champions Dhaka Dynamites in the 1st qualifier at 7pm for a direct final berth.Mahmudullah Riyad-led 3rd ranked Khulna Titans will encounter Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s 4th placed Rangpur Riders in the only eliminator at 2pm with a hope to stay in the title race.The winners of the first qualifiers will reach the final directly while the losers of the first qualifier have a chance to reach the final if they are able to beat the winners of eliminator on December 10 at 6pm at the same venue.The final of the seven-team tournament will be held on Tuesday (Dec 12) at 6pm at the home of Bangladesh cricket.On completion of the league round of the seven-team franchise-based 5th BPL on Wednesday, Comilla Victorians top the list securing 18 points with a run rate of 0.578 while holders Dhaka Dynamites finished 2nd collecting 15 points having a run rate of 1.631, Khulna Titans became 3rd securing same points with a poor run rate of 0.075 and Rangpur Riders were placed 4th collecting 12 points with a run rate of -0.267.UNB news agency
