6 get suffocation injuries as apartment catches fire in Capital

Dhaka – A fire broke out inside an apartment at a multi-storied building in the capital’s Shantinagar area on early Wednesday.
Sources at the fire service headquarters control room said the fire originated at around 1:00 am inside flat no. A4 on the 10th floor of the 22-storey building.

Panicked residents, most of them were in deep sleep, of the building came out to the streets safely.
Being informed, eight fire fighter units went to the spot and doused the flame at around 2:40 am, said Ware House Inspector Ataur Rahman of the headquarters.
He said 5-6 people were received minor injury due to suffocation and they were sent to hospital.
However, reason behind the incident could not be known immediately as it was under investigated, the fire fighter office added. – News Desk
