Salahuddin’s release from medical may delay

Despite speculations, BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed now undergoing treatment in police custody at NEIGRIHMS Hospital in Shillong, Meghalaya was not produced before the court yesterday.

Doctors looking after him at NEIGRIHMS Hospital indicated that the release of Salahuddin depends on completion of his investigation and evaluation for a host of complains about his heart, kidneys, prostate and skins rashes.
“Mr Salahuddin has been admitted at the hospital. A team of doctors are evaluating his conditions to provide his the best possible medical treatments,” Director NEIGRIHMS Dr. AG Ahanger told The Independent yesterday.
About his latest condition, he said the reports available so far of different test carried out on Salahuddin indicates that his condition was stable.
“There is nothing serious on his health condition,” he said.
Replying to a question, the NEIGRIHMS director said it may take couple of days to complete investigation and evaluation of his test reports.
“Medial Board is working on the methodology of his treatment,” he added.

Asked about his release Dr. Ahanger said it depends on completion of investigation and evaluation of his heath condition.
Meanwhile, police sources said, Salahuddin would be produced before the court after they get clearance from the doctors.

Salahuddin was found loitering at Gold Link area of Shillong on May 11 after he was abducted from a Uttar residence on March 10 in Dhaka.
