6,919 Bangladeshis UN peacekeeping missions

A total of 6,919 members of the armed forces are now engaged in the UN peacekeeping missions, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni told Parliament on Tuesday.The armed forces members are working under seven peacekeeping missions of the UN, she said, responding to a scripted question of M Abdul Latif (Chittagong-10).
Dipu Moni said the highest 2,545 Bangladesh peacekeepers are deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Some 2,169 others are engaged in the UN Operation in Côte d’ Ivoire (UNOCI); 1,383 in the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL); 326 in the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL); 278 in the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS); 198 in the African Union/UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID); and 20 peacekeepers in the South Sahara, she informed the House.
