Dhaka – The Election Commission (EC) has finalised the list of polling stations and polling booths for the first phase upazila polls slated for February 19.
As per the lists, there are 6992 polling stations and 44225 polling booths in 98 upazilas, said an official of the EC secretariat on Tuesday, preferring anonymity. Besides, the EC will publish the final list of returning officers for the election in the 98 upazilas on February 3 after disposing of objections regarding the possible returning officers, EC sources said.
A total of 16477660 voters — 8191330 males and 8286330 females — will be able to exercise their franchises in the first phase elections. – UNB
