Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested seven people in connection with their alleged involved in Aminul Islam alias Jisan killing in Dhanmondi from different areas of the city on Sunday.
The detectives recovered the mobile phone, used by the victim, from the arrested people’s possession.
The arrested suspected killers are—Mehedi Hasan, and his four accomplices—Sharif Hossain, Md Imon, Md Hasan Ahmed, Md Asif Iqbal alias Anik, Md Amit Hasan and Md Wasif Ullah alias Gourav.Unidentified miscreants mercilessly beaten Jisan with Iron Rods on the bank of Dhanmondi-32 lakh in the evening on May 12 this year and then phoned to Jisan’s father saying that Jisan was seriously injured and he was taken to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital in Dhanmondi. Later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where Jisan succumbed to his injuries at about 2:00 pm on May 14.
A case was filed with Dhanmondi police station on following day and later, it was transferred to DB police.
Sources at the DB said a special DB team led by Senior AC Md Nur Alam Siddique conducted simultaneous drives in different areas of the capital on Sunday based on secret information and arrested the seven suspected killers.
During preliminary interrogation, they revealed that they were involved in the killing. – News Desk
