Dhaka – A mobile court on Wednesday sentenced seven fishermen to one month’s imprisonment each for catching hilsa fish defying the ban.A team led by executive magistrate Khalekuzzaman conducted a drive in the Padma river in Louhajong upazila in Munshiganj and arrested seven fishermen in the morning,UNB News Agency Reported.The team also seized 10,000 metre current nets and 15 kg hilsa fish.Later, the detained fishermen were produced before the mobile court of executive magistrate Khalekuzzaman which sentenced each of them to one month’s imprisonment.The government has imposed a ban on catching, selling, transportation and hoarding of hilsa from 12 October to 2 November.
