7-murder accused Nur Hossain extradition anytime: Asad

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Tuesday said India will extradite Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the Narayanganj seven-murder cases, anytime following the due process.
“India will deport Nur Hossain anytime…police are ready to receive him,” he said while talking to reporters at his office. The minister, however, could not say when the neighbouring country would send Nur Hossain back.
Asaduzzaman said the government is in negotiations with India to bring back the fugitive accused. “The repatriation process might have been delayed due to some legal complexities in India,” he said.
On July 2 this year, India agreed to extradite Nur Hossain.
Replying to a question about disbanding Rab amid widespread criticisms over the killings of some ruling party men, including Bangladesh Chhatra League leader Arju, in so-called gunfights, the minister said there is no need to abolish the elite force as it is performing its duty maintaining rules and regulations.
He, however, said if any Rab member commits any crime, legal action will be taken against him.
About the court order to conduct judicial inquiry against three Rab members, including the commanding officer of Rapid Action Battalion-2, in connection with the killing of Hazaribagh BCL leader Arju in a ‘gunfight’, Asaduzzaman said necessary steps will be taken in this regard.- UNB
