8 charge-sheeted in blogger Rajib murder case

The charge sheet of much talked about Blogger Rajib murder case was submitted to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on Tuesday

against eight people including Islamist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team chief Mufti M Jasimuddin Rahmani.
Inspector Nibaron Chandara Barman of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) submitted the charge sheet to Dhaka CMM Court at 5 pm
Tuesday.
Police SI Monirul Haque Dablu of the court received the charge sheet.
He told this correspondent that the charge was submitted against eight accused and 55 persons were made witnesses in the case. Besides, the
charge sheet says of about 78 kinds of seizure listed items. SI Monir also said that the charge sheet will be placed before the court
Wednesday.
Other seven listed accused of the charge sheet are North South University students: Faisal Bin Naim alias Dwip, 22, Maksudul Hasan
Anik, 26, Mohammad Ehsan Reza alias Rumman ,23, Md Naim Sikder alias Irad, 19, Nafis Imtiaz, 22, Sadman Yasir Mahmud, 20 and Redwanul Azad
alias Rana,30.
Of the eight accused seven are in jail custody while remaining accused is on the run. Although, Jasim Uddin Rahmani did not admit his
involvement he was made accused in the case, as other accused persons mentioned his name as the mastermind of the murder. That is why he was
made accused in the case.
On February 15 of last year at night, Blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider Shovon was chopped to death in front his Pallabi residence. Later his
father Nazim Uddin filed a case with Pallabi Police Station in the capital. – Court Correspondent
