The two-day election of Dhaka Bar Association ended on Thursday at 5 pm and the result of the polls is scheduled to be announced on Friday.
A total of 9,092 lawyer voters of the bar cast their votes in the two-day election. Of the 15,372 voters, 3,911 cast their votes on Wednesday while the remaining 5,181 lawyer voters of the biggest bar of the country utilized their voting rights Thursday.A total of 61 candidates from pro-Awami League ‘White Panel’ and pro-BNP-Jamaat ‘Blue-Penal and some independent candidates of the ‘Green-Penal’ have vied for 25 positions.
The BNP-Jamaat backead Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya (Blue Penal) had swept the Dhaka Bar Association polls last year bagging 18 posts of 25, including the positions of President and General Secretary. On the other hand, the ruling Awami League-backed
