Veteran vocalist of the sub-continent Runa Laila, was felicitated in London on October 23. A lifetime achievement award was given to her marking her fiftieth year in the music industry. The award was handed over at The Great Room of Grosvenor House Hotel, Mayfair, London. The 6th edition of UK’s Asian Curry Awards was then being held at the venue. This award is chiefly given for proficiency in Asian cuisines. While receiving the award members of British House of Lords’ and House of Commons’ were present. Two grandchildren of Runa were also present with her on stage.
Last year Runa was honoured at the House of Commons’ in a similar manner. Runa Laila has won numerous awards in her career both in the country and abroad.
