Dhaka – A housewife has been strangulated to death allegedly by her husband in Ramrail area of Sadar upazila in Brahmanbaria.Police recovered the body of Halima Khatun, 24, wife of Alamgir Hossain of the area, on Tuesday morning,UNB news agency reported.Moinur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Alamgir’s father registered a piece of land in Halima’s name. Later, Alamgir created pressure on Halima to transfer the land in his name. He used to often torture Halima over the issue.Alamgir strangled his wife by a scarf sometime on Monday night and went into hiding locking the house from outside.
Noticing the incident, locals informed police on Tuesday morning.Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
