Daag, a Bangladeshi short film will become the first short to be selected for screening in the Cannes Film Festival. The film will be shown in the upcoming 70th edition of the annual festival between May 17 and 22. The film is based on the Liberation War and has been directed by Joshim Ahmed.
The director claims it to be the third success for Bangladeshi film industry in Cannes, though this time competition will be with big-budget American films. The film casts Shatabdi Wadud, Sharmin Joha, Shoshi. The script and dialogue has been written by Pantha Shahriar.
