Take one combined admission test for tertiary education.

A news “No one admitted to four departments of RUET” has drawn my attention. The departments were Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME).Two thousand and five hundred came out successful in the admission test where as against eight thousand who appeared and all of them are brilliant students.
Every year after the result of HSC, students apply to as many institutions as they can – BUET, RUET, DU, RU – and sit for all admission tests. All the forms are expensive and travelling from from one university to another for admission test is also costly in addition to the mental anxiety for the guardians as well because of unsafe roads and unpredictable law and order.
In the meantime, the Hon’able president has asked the concerned authorities to ease the system for admission for tertiary education by taking centralised single admission test for all universities.
If only one combined test can be taken for all the Engineering universities and medical colleges, similar combiled admission test can be conducted for both public and private universities. This will reduce tension of students and anxiety of their guardians.
