Dhaka – Two motorcyclists, including a UP chairman, were killed as a truck hit their bike at Bertala on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Ashuganj upazila on Tuesday night.Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Sarail Hatihata Highway Police Station, said the truck knocked down the motorcycle carrying Baki Billah Jewel, 45, chairman of Bholakut union parishad of Nasirnagar upazila and Rony Bhuiyan, 32, joint secretary of the district unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, around 10.20pm, leaving them seriously injured.They were taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Rony dead.Jewel died on the way while being moved to Dhaka at night.UNB news agency
