Rajshahi – Demanding the Four points the students of Rajshahi University (RU) formed a human chain at the Paris road on the university campus at 112 pm on Sunday.Their demands include improvement of standard of food in Hall’s dining, increasing bus trips, keeping open central library in everyday and ensuring the safety on campus.
Moderated by Masud Munna, a student of Islamic Studies dept. Shahadat Hossain of Appllied Math, Mahmudul Mithu of ICE, Ishtiaque Ahmed if Economics, Shahriar Alam of Anthropology and Mahua Mithu of Political Science spoke at the program.
Speakers said, increasing bus trips has led the students to the sufferings and well-standard food yet to be supplied in hall dining though the charge is increased.
Besides Banghabandhu Cultural Jote, Student Federation of RU unit and Central Cultural Alliance expressed their solidarity with the demands.
Nited, On July 16 a new time-schedule went on effect that menaced bus trips and extended office and class ours from 09.00 to 05.00pm declaring the Friday and Saturday as offday and increasing dining charge. – RU Correspondent
