Eminent singers Sadi Mohammad and Subir Nandi have jointly undertaken a project to produce a Tagore album for the coming Eid. Sadi Mohammad will do the musical arrangements while Subir Nandi, who has prominently sung Nazrul songs till now will do the singing. Subir Nandi though has recorded modern songs for cinemas alongside Nazrul songs, has never voiced for Tagore songs. It has been reported that Sadi Mohammad has persuaded Subir Nandi to take up Tagore songs. The album will be released soon after Eid-ul-Adha.
Some of the songs will be released early on YouTube before official release. Songs are primarily for listeners so they should get to hear them first, feels Subir Nandi. It is not like Subir never tried Tagore songs. He sang Tagore songs at ceremonies and occasions but never for records. He feels that it will be a great miss if songs by all the five bards of modern Bangla literature are not recorded by an artiste.
