Dhaka – Saif Sporting Club of Bangladesh finished runners-up in the Asian Chess Club Champions League 2017 securing six points in the tournament that concluded at Citrus Hikkaduwa in Sri Lanka on Sunday.In the last round match on Sunday, Saif Sporting Club beat Sri Lankan side by 3-1 points. GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib and GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Saif SC beat GMH Thilakarathne and PKUM Jayasundara of Sri Lanka.GM Ziaur Rahman and IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin of Saif SC drew with Alahakoon Isuru and Amarasinghe of Sri Lanka.Saipa Chess Club of Iran emerged unbeaten champion securing eight points.Earlier, Saif SC beat Bu Xue Qi Yuan of China by 3.5-0.5 points, beat Sydney Chess Club of Australia by 2.5-1.5 points and lost to Saipa Chess Club of Iran by 0.5-3.5 points.Saif SC received $US 3,000 as prize money.In this event, GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib, GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Enamul Hossain, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin and FM Md.
