The government has taken up a plan to introduce diesel electric
multiple unit (DEMU) trains in three routes under Lalmonirhat rail
division this month to make the rail journey more acceptable to the
passengers.
Railway office sources said the DEMU train service routes in
Parbotipur-Syedpur, Parbotipur-Thakurgaon and Parbotipur-Lalmonirhat
routes in every day.
The train imported from China would have 149 seats for the passengers.
Besides, as many as 151 passengers could travel in the train easily in
standing position, sources said.
Divisional manager of Lalmonirhat rail division Abdul Hai said almost
all preparations had already been completed to launch the trains in
the routes before Eid-ul-Fitr.
