Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Sunday said the next parliamentary election will be held according to the Constitution, and not under the supervision of any person.
He made the remarks in a discussion programme on “Skills for Achieving SDG” marking Public Engineering Day and 47th founding anniversary of the Institution of Diploma Engineers (IDEB) in the auditorium of the Institution.
“Some say the election will be held under Sheikh Hasina’s supervision or leadership. I want to say that the next parliamentary election will be held according to the Constitution not under the supervision of any person. We don’t want the Constitutional emptiness to be returned. We will not allow any vested quarters to grab power taking the chance of the constitutional weakness or emptiness,” Amu said.
He added “We have the Constitution. The country is being administrated as per the Constitution as well as the election will be conducted according to the Constitution. We have no provision in our constitution which promotes the communal politics. But it was introduced in our constitution after Ziaur Rahman had taken the power.”
Stressing on the technical education, he said engineers can play a vital role in achieving the goal of Sustainable Development. As the knowledge and experience of the engineers will be need for attaining the goal, engineers should make the use of technological knowledge popular among the marginal level.
