Dhaka – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two suspected smugglers along with 26 gold bars worth Tk 1.67crore from Benapole check-post area here on Friday.The arrestees are Imran Hossian, 22, son of Ali Hossain and Billal Hossian, 25, son of Rezaul Islam, residents of Balunda village.Tipped off, a patrol team of BGB conducted a drive in the area and arrested them around 10:00am, said BGB-49 commanding officer Lt Col Ariful Haq.Later, they recovered 26 old bars, weighing 4.2 kilogram, searching their bodies.Later, they were handed over to Benapole Police station.A case was filed.UNB news agency
